Was that hail???

It rained all day yesterday. It was just miserable outside..

I was beyond tired last night. After putting the girls to bed I was exhausted, so I layed down on our bed. Brian came in and gave me a report on our Maui trip. He is doing the planning! Around 9 he told me to take a nap and he’d wake me in time for LOST.. I woke up about 20 minutes later to the worst sounding storm ever.. The wind felt like it was going to knock our house over, then the hail started, the lightening was unreal! It was crazy out there. I went downstairs, looked outside. Made a comment to Brian and then went back upstairs. Turned on the TV to see if there were any Tornado warnings, just severe storm warnings. Watched the weather channel.

Then I went back to bed until Brian woke me up for LOST.

The storm had passed by then.

I really am surprised the girls didn’t wake up..

  1. We had it too! Nice heavy rain, hail, thunder, lighting. Every time it would thunder Kara would look towards the window with this look on her face that said ‘do you mind?’

  2. It really has, I wish it would pick a temp and just stay with it! I hate being able to dress the girls in tank tops and shorts one day and the next putting them back in jeans, long sleeve shirts and their winter coats!

  3. do you guys get a lot of tornados? i hate them. im glad it was over in time for you to watch Lost… thats important! 🙂 We haven’t watched yet…as usual we have to wait until Friday, its so hard 🙂

  4. Not too many tornados.. We mostly get the watches and warnings. A couple of times the sirens have gone off. Not nearly as much as when I lived in IL though.

LOST was good.. I was so tired that I only watched with one eye open for the first half LOL.. Then I had some cake and perked up for the second half. It’s going to start getting really interesting!

  5. There was an article in the paper last week on Lost. It was something about their ratings and how even when people are getting tired of the plot line they keep watching because there is an attachment to their favorite shows. I think that is why AI keeps getting good ratings even though this season stinks. Anyways, I thought about you when I read it and wondered if you were still watching since you haven’t posted about it as much.

It sounds like you guys had a doozy of a storm. I love the sound of a thunderstorm and rain. We don’t get hail much though and I’m sure it would creep me out a bit, lol. I am always amazed at how much kids can sleep through though. It may take a while for my kids to knock out for the night but when they do they don’t hear a thing!

  6. I know! I was very surprised, it felt like the windows were going to shatter..

I woke up very refreshed and now I’m back to being exhausted again LOL, but not as bad as yesterday!

  7. For awhile in the second season I just watched because of my attachment to the show and it was Brian and I’s show to watch together. It’s starting to get interesting again.. I do believe I will be a LOST fan forever!!! I don’t have the first 2 seasons on DVD, but I will someday LOL.. I haven’t been talking about it on my LJ because I have friends who watch but after it airs and I don’t want to spoil it for them. It kills me sometimes LOL.. I should just post it behind a cut labeled *spoilers ahead, read at your own risk*!

I love a good thunderstorm, even hail is fascinating to me. At one time I wanted desperately to be a storm chaser like in the movie Twister! But I was quite surprised waking up to that storm.. We can barely hear the tornado sirens when they do the tests every Wednesday morning. I don’t think we would be hearing the sirens during an actual storm like the one we had the other night. That is kind of scary.

  8. Oh that is so funny you say that. I was obssessed with the movie Twister when it first came out. I really wanted to be a storm chaser too. Now, of course, I realize that if you freak out at the possibility of a tornado it is probably not a good idea to CHASE them, lol.
