I’m alive and well..

Just haven’t had much to say lately. Or had a lot to say but no desire to write about it on here.

Our friend Sara (Brian’s friend from high school) is visiting this weekend! She flies in on Friday afternoon and leaves Sunday night! I’m excited! It’s going to be a lot of fun and this is the first time she has been able to come out and see us! We haven’t seen her since last summer when we went out to PA.

I think Deana and I have finally come to agreements with the whole compensation/time issue I was having and I am feeling better about that. We are doing dave ramsey’s financial peace university. and are trying to dump all debt, and not go into anymore debt. luckily we don’t have any credit card debt (except for my dress but it is zero interest and no payments and we are just going to pay it off now) our next debt in line is our van payment, then the student loan, then the house. but i don’t believe we will be paying off the house, especially since we are moving. if anything, we should have the van and student loans paid off and then be able to save $500 a month to put towards a down payment on our next house and just have a very short mortgage, like 15 years. but I would want to find the house that I would be comfortable living in and raising my family in until retirement. I have no desire to move out of this area. Anyway, lots of money talk around our household lately! I just can’t wait until the day we are no longer a slave to debt! It’s an exciting journey and I’m glad to be on it! I totally and completely recommend his stuff, especially if you are in a huge hole of debt or are young and have no debt, so you can keep it that way!

I am in the process of decluttering and keeping up my house. The carpets are getting cleaned on Tuesday and that is just awesome, now if I can just keep Brandon for continuously spitting up on everything!

The girls are doing well. We had a lot of fun playing soccer and playing on the swingset yesterday! I didn’t even think to take pictures.

Alright. I’m off to go cuddle with Katie! Hope everyone is doing well! I have been reading, just not been a huge commenter lately.

  1. Good for you guys! It seems like you don’t have a lot of little debts that really add up.
It’s so exciting when you start paying things off!

  2. I’ve heard great stuff about Dave Ramsey. I really want to get his book, for now I’ve been listening to his radio program on-line. Our house will be paid off next year but we have tons of credit card debt. Blah..yuck for dumb decisions, we can’t take it back now but are working hard to pay it off. Once we get the house paid off we can take our morgage payment and put it right on credit cards and Lee’s student loan should be paid off by then too so that will be a lot of extra money to go towards them.

I’m glad your doing so well with your house, your e-mail really proved to be the jump start I needed!!

  4. We LoVE Dave Ramsey! We used to drive by his radio station every week, sometimes while he was there doing the talk show. We try to be sold out on getting debt free. We’ve finished off all our credit card debt, all our school loans are finally paid for. All that’s left is a lousy 1,300 in dr’s bills/ family owed. It’s awesome. We started when we got married with somewhere around 19K in debt, and slowly have been moving it down. And now we’re almost done.
We haven’t purchased a home yet, but this will be a big deal when we do. Also, we’ve set aside a savings account for a new car, which will help too. I love his baby steps. They make a lot of sense and are easy to apply if you take it one by one. I like that.

  5. Hi Veronica!! I missed you sweets!! I can’t find your email that you sent me šŸ˜¦
I couldn’t agree more with having debt, it is next to impossible to not have any, but we are trying to do something similar, we have minimal CC debt which we pay off each month, but we need to work on saving more each month!

I am right there with you on decluttering, I feel so much peace when everything is organized, although I am a clean freak, the organization takes longer but makes life so much easier šŸ˜‰

Ok, I am just rambling in your journal now, enjoy your day!!

  7. It is exciting! I think because we don’t have little debts it seems more frustrating though, it’s like we have this huge thing looming, but it will get there!

  8. I guess I never thought about that as a major accomplishment, but I suppose so, especially in this day and age!

  9. That’s so cool that you used to drive by his show!! I really enjoy everything he has to say. Actually it’s kind of funny because my Dad has always been that way, and I never picked it up from him, no matter how hard he tried to get me to listen LOL! I think sometimes it’s just easier when it’s a third party.

I really like the baby steps as well! It seems like you can really get things accomplished!

We got our carpets cleaned which forced me to get everything up off the floor, now I just need to put things away! Still have cleaning to do, but it won’t be too bad! Just need to keep motivated šŸ™‚

    Love you hun!
